Sources at Google have disclosed that the humble domain, http://research.google.com, will soon provide a home for terabytes of open-source scientific datasets. See: http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/01/google-to-provi.html
We have a proof of concept Flex ( aka Adobe Flash ) Ontology browser at:
http://labs.rgd.mcw.edu/ontology/browse.html
Jeff De Pons created this to test if flex could handle displaying all our ontology trees. It only lets you double click on nodes and drill down each ontology tree and back up again.
We have a demo of our newly redesigned RGD site up and running at http://rgddev.mcw.edu. It will be avalable untill Dec 14th 2007.
Latest Screen Shot of new Web site redesign.
We've Updated our Gviewer tool to use our flash GViewer instead of the SVG based one. It also displays the list of Ontology terms that matched your query. Please let us know what you think.
We are currently underway with a complete site redesign here at RGD. We are starting with the homepage, which needs a complete overhaul. Goals are to make it easier to navigate along with the ability for our staff to provide better communication with the community. Attached is a screen shot of the 0.1 Beta of the look and feel of the new homepage. We'll post the 0.2 version this week before asking for comments from the entire staff.
We've released a new copy of the RGD Strains file on our FTP site. As an added bonus we're generating an XML version also.
See: ftp://rgd.mcw.edu/pub/data_release/STRAINS.xml
Expect more XML versions of our data soon. These files will be updated weekly.
A report on RGD’s developments and accomplishments for the grant year September 1, 2006 – August 31, 2007 is available . Updates will be available on a quarterly basis.
Attached is my poster im presenting at MSCBB on the PhpLiteframework we're using here at the RGD for many internal projects. Details on this project can be found on our Beta Test Page
